Sashi Arumugam Named Vice President, Distribution Technology and Intelligence, Hachette Book Group US Distribution

Lebanon, IN (July 16, 2026) — Hachette Book Group (HBG) announced that Sashi Arumugam has been named Vice President, Distribution Technology and Intelligence, Hachette Book Group US Distribution. The appointment was made by Michael Shoults, Hachette Book Group US Distribution CEO, to whom Arumugam will report.  

In this new role, Sashi Arumugam will lead the strategy and execution of HBG’s distribution technology and intelligence, driving the evolution of the company’s warehouse management systems and distribution platforms. He will advance HBG’s distribution expertise by strengthening technology capabilities and improving cross-functional team collaboration. Sashi will oversee key technology initiatives, including the upcoming SQL Server migration, and the shaping of HBG’s Distribution AI strategy, with a focus on turning usage into measurable ROI and capability.

Sashi brings extensive experience leading distribution technology, warehouse management systems, and enterprise technology programs. Most recently, he led Distribution Technology and Programs at Steve Madden, where he oversaw technology strategy supporting the company’s distribution operations and large-scale systems initiatives. In his first months at HBG, he will focus on building relationships across the team, gaining deep familiarity with HBG’s systems, and strengthening collaboration with Corporate IT.
