Dan Levy Appointed Senior Vice President, Chief Data Officer, Hachette

New York, NY (September 16, 2026) — Hachette Book Group (HBG) announced today that Dan Levy has been appointed to Senior Vice President, Chief Data Officer, Hachette beginning today. Levy steps into this role after 5 years at HBG, most recently holding the title of  Vice President, Data Intelligence Group. The promotion was made by Brendan Goss, Group Chief Information Officer, to whom Levy will report.

In this new role, Levy will ensure that HBG, Hachette UK, Hachette Australia & New Zealand, and Hachette India are driving towards a single group architecture supporting all our data and allowing the delivery of services consistently across all group companies, providing enhanced insights to inform our business decisions. Dan will take a group level responsibility for the Data, BI and Reporting teams that are currently run separately in the UK and the US and will join the executive IT Leadership team.

“I’m thrilled to have Dan step into this new role across Hachette. Over the past several years, he has demonstrated invaluable insight, dedication, and a strong work ethic, but most of all his desire simply to make things continually better than they are,” Goss said. “I’m excited to see Dan lead the Group’s overall Data Strategy into its next phase of delivery and look forward to partnering with him.”

Levy brings experience in managing HBG’s business critical reviews and improvement programmes, which will continue to be a part of his purview until he fully transitions into the new role. Over the last 18 months, Levy has consistently demonstrated his dedication to HBG’s improvement. While working alongside David Mc Teague, Head of IT: Business Intelligence, HUK, he has exemplified the necessary leadership and strategic insight to lead the overall Group Data Strategy into the future.

“I am excited to take on this new global role at Hachette and am passionate about creating best-in-class services and bringing teams together around a cohesive Data, BI and Reporting strategy,” Levy said. “I look forward to building on the success and progression of this exceptional team.”
