Lights, Camera, Action: Filming Begins on WISH YOU WELL!

Principal photography has begun on the feature film adaptation of David Baldacci’s bestselling novel Wish You Well. Darnell Martin (CADILLAC RECORDS, I LIKE IT LIKE THAT) is directing a cast led by Josh Lucas (SWEET HOME ALABAMA), Mackenzie Foy (THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN) and Academy Award® winner Ellen Burstyn (ALICE DOESN’T LIVE HERE ANYMORE, THE EXORCIST). The film is shooting in Giles County, Va.

The film also stars Ned Bellamy (TREME, BEING JOHN MALKOVICH), Laura Fraser (BREAKING BAD), Seamus Davey-Fitzpatrick (MOONRISE KINGDOM) and Alano Miller and introduces Virginia native JP Vanderloo as Oz.

Six-time Oscar® nominee Ellen Burstyn received the Academy Award® for Best Actress for ALICE DOESN’T LIVE HERE ANYMORE and nominations for THE LAST PICTURE SHOW, THE EXORCIST, SAME TIME NEXT YEAR, RESURRECTION and REQUIEM FOR A DREAM. She is also the winner of a Tony®, an Emmy® and a Golden Globe®. Most recently, she starred in BIG LOVE and POLITICAL ANIMALS.

WISH YOU WELL is a coming-of-age story set in the 1940s. After a family tragedy, a young girl moves from New York with her younger brother to live with their great-grandmother on a Virginia farm and comes closer to understanding the land and roots that inspired her father’s writings while discovering herself, the love of family and the power of truly believing.

The film is a collaboration between Life Out Loud Films, Baldacci Entertainment and Copper Beech Productions.
